Bringing back the glamour of the past with the Amami Tambourine Payneta. A peineta, or payneta, is a traditional decorative comb often worn by Filipina women of affluence to complete the traje de mestiza, which was often called the Maria Clara dress, that was popularized in 19th century Philippines.
The Amami Tambourine Payneta features 5 meticulously crafted tambourine beads, including the 'Amami' bead, the most intricate of all tambourine beads we've ever come across (hence our namesake!).
This unique hair comb is not only aesthetically beautiful, but also rich in stories and tradition. Sweep the payneta along the side of your head, or tuck it into a loosely-pinned high or low bun for a romantic look.
Fun fact: The term 'payneta' is even mentioned in the lyrics of the popular Filipino folk song many of us grew up listening to - Paru-parong Bukid!
